New ideas needn’t be confusing. Economics isn’t boring.

Podcasts

Every Friday I present the VoxTalks Economics podcast for the Centre for Economic Policy Research, investigating early-stage economics research. On Wednesdays its companion podcast VoxDev Development Economics focuses on the innovative development economics that helps the world’s poorest people.

Books and journalism

I have researched and written about business, politics and economics for more than 100 publishers around the world. What can’t data do? How can we be happy? Are stereotypes useful? What is innovation for? Who wins a trade war? You can find some of the answers in my books and journalism.

Editing

As a copy editor I work on single documents or entire books for other authors, or for publishers. This can involve basic editing, rewrites, and sometimes even reshaping the entire structure and narrative flow to make books easier to read and more commercially successful.

The CORE Project

CORE creates free. open-access course materials to teach economics in universities and schools that are based on the most important problems in the real world. It is taught in at least 375 institutions, including the University of Oxford, UCL, University of Warwick, Yale, and Columbia among others. I was the editor for the course texts.
